rs.ge explained: signing in and what you do there

rs.ge is the Revenue Service's official portal. What it is, how to use rs.ge in English, how the SMS sign-in works and what a taxpayer normally does there.

What rs.ge is

rs.ge is the official website and e-services portal of the Revenue Service of Georgia, the body that collects taxes and runs customs. Kvitiko is an independent product. It is not rs.ge, it is not a government site, and it is not affiliated with the Revenue Service. What you do on rs.ge, you do on rs.ge’s own pages and with your own login.

The address covers two things. One is the public website, with news, legislation, guides, contacts and separate entries for natural persons and legal persons. The other is the e-services part, behind a login, where a taxpayer files, pays and asks for documents.

Using rs.ge in English

The public site has a language switch. On the home page, “ENG” is at the top and “English Version” at the bottom. The sign-in page has an English version link as well. Some labels stay in Georgian even then. On the English home page we saw the link to all services still labelled in Georgian, so if a screen is in Georgian, your browser’s translation helps. Check any figure or date you read this way against the original.

Signing in

On the e-services sign-in page you enter your username and password. A new user can register there, and the registration link leads to a video-call service of the Revenue Service. The page also has a link to recover a forgotten username or password.

An account can use a second step, an SMS sign-in. After the password, rs.ge sends a code to the phone number registered in advance, and you type the code to get in. The code screen lets you send the code again, receive it by email or change the phone number. The page also describes a code word, set when the second step is switched on, which you can later use to change the phone number without signing in. If you forget both the password and the code word, the page says to reset them at a Revenue Service service center.

What a taxpayer normally does there

Which sections you see depends on your account and, if someone else signs in for you, on the rights you gave them. A typical individual entrepreneur uses these:

  • Declarations. Filing returns, for example the monthly small-business declaration, due by the 15th of the next month for the small business status (Tax Code, Article 93(1^1)).
  • Online payment. Paying the tax that a declaration shows.
  • Applications. Asking for certificates, such as a statement that you have no tax debt or the small business certificate.
  • Notifications. Notices from the Revenue Service. Look here regularly.
  • Tax Calendar. The coming due dates for your taxes.
  • General Information. Your basic information, payments and turnover.
  • User Management. Creating sub-users with limited rights, for example for a bookkeeper or for software, which you can delete at any time.
  • Waybills and Invoices. For businesses that move goods or issue tax invoices.
  • Activity log. A record of the sign-ins and actions in your account.

What rs.ge does not do for you

rs.ge does not register your business. An individual entrepreneur is registered with the National Agency of Public Registry, and the registration entails tax registration, with the data sent on to the Revenue Service (Law on Entrepreneurs, Article 8). Read how to open an individual entrepreneur in Georgia for that part. Income in a foreign currency is counted in lari at the official National Bank of Georgia rate of the day of the transaction (Tax Code, Article 73(10)), and the rate tool gives that rate for any date.

Where Kvitiko fits

If you would rather not click through the portal each month, Kvitiko works in your own rs.ge account on your behalf. It reads what is there, prepares your monthly return from your figures at the National Bank rate, and reminds you before the deadline. Nothing is filed until you approve it, unless you have turned the approval page off in Settings. You can also connect your own AI assistant. You keep your rs.ge account, and you can choose limited access through a sub-user.
